The Delegation of the European Union to Tanzania and the East Africa Community (EU) collaborated with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in efforts to empower young girls and women. SRC was tasked with creating a social media campaign to create awareness on female genital mutilation (FGM), as part of the ongoing global campaign to increase efforts in eradicating the harmful practice.
The campaign aimed to get the target audience to “own” the fight against FGM and other forms of gender based violence by adding their voices to the conversation. To date, the campaign reached 598,000 people on Social Media platforms.
